When the Chicago Bears added wide receiver Rueben Randle on reserve/future contract back in January, it caused a ripple through Bears’ fandom because Randle was a “Name.” He was a second round draft pick of the New York Giants in 2012, and in 2014 and 2015, he had 128 catches, 1,735 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. Not bad production, but the Giants elected to let him walk following the 2015 season.
The word on Randle in New York, was that he was a lazy and easily distracted. Some questioned his ability to learn the full playbook as well.
