The news that Tim Jennings was among the first roster trims made by the Bears on Sunday overshadowed a rare spot of encouraging injury news for the Bears regarding rookie wide receiver Kevin White, who could be back before the end of the 2015 season.
With an eye toward rules changes in July, White was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list at the outset of training camp because of a shin injury. On Sunday, White was tagged with the reserve/physically unable to perform designation, a move that means the Bears have not given up on White for the season following August surgery to repair the shin injury, determined to be a stress fracture to White’s left tibia.
