Barone has been coaching since the mid-80's, and his NFL stops include Atlanta, San Diego, Denver, and Minnesota. Most recently, Barone was the Vikings' offensive line coach in 2018. He was the tight ends coach under Pat Shumur the year before, the latter of which is heavily rumored to be one of the targets for the Bears' offensive coordinator vacancy.
