ATLANTA — After Mitch Trubisky’s third-quarter interception Sunday, Matt Nagy had enough.
The Bears coach switched to veteran Nick Foles after Trubisky threw an interception into a zone defense, short of the sticks, on third down. After Blidi Wreh-Wilson returned the ball 23 yards, the Falcons kicked a field goal to go ahead by 16 points.
That was enough for Nagy to switch to Foles, for whom the Bears traded a fourth-round pick this offseason. Trubisky was 13-for-22 for 128 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He has a passer rating of 71.8.
Trubisky was inconsistent in his first two games of the season, leading the Bears to a come-from-behind victory in the fourth quarter against the Lions and looking strong in the first half in Week 2 against the Giants.
