Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Bears have released veteran DE Lamarr Houston from injured reserve on Wednesday.
Houston, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Raiders back in 2010. After four years in Oakland, the Bears signed Houston to a five-year, $35 million contract that included $15 million guaranteed.
It is worth mentioning that Houston landed on the team’s injured reserve in 2014 and 2016 with ACL injuries.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Houston will free up $5.01 million in available cap space while creating $1.98 million in dead money.
