Per the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs, the Chicago Bears have informed quarterback Matt Blanchard that he will be released. In a corresponding roster move, the Bears will sign undrafted free agent Dalyn Williams, a quarterback from Dartmouth.
Blanchard was on his second stint with his hometown Bears after originally being an UDFA from Division III University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2012. He is from Lake Zurich, Illinois, a town less than a hour from Chicago. He had brief stops with four other teams after the Bears first released him in 2013.
Williams is 5'11", 205 pounds and he was named All Ivy League 2nd Team by the coaches as a senior in 2015.
