With Isaiah Irving already ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Chicago Bears have signed James Jaughters from their practice squad to provide depth at outside linebacker and special teams. To make room for Vaughters on the 53-man roster the Bears waived tight end Bradley Sowell again.
Sowell, an eight year veteran, has been a frequent signee and release this entire year — acting like a 54th player on Chicago’s roster — but with the NFL season into week nine he’ll now have to pass through waivers before being re-signed.
