At this point, I hope everyone realizes that the Chicago Bears are having tight end Bradley Sowell act as the unofficial 54th man on their roster. They cut him each week before the game if there’s a pressing roster need, then they re-add him after the game so he can practice with the team. They use him as the sacrificial lamb each time because there’s little to no chance another team would claim a 30-year old converted offensive lineman off waivers.
But with as poor as Chicago’s tight ends have been this year, why not give Sowell a shot?
