Bears receivers see growth, confidence in Mitch Trubisky's preseason debut

Mitch Trubisky threw a strike, and Rueben Randle admittedly felt bad he couldn’t get the extra few inches necessary for a touchdown.

On first-and-goal from the 10-yard line during the Bears’ first drive of the second half, Trubisky hit Randle in the chest on a slant near the goal line. The 6-foot-2, 203-pound receiver thought he was big enough to simply fall in the end zone.

“I thought I was there, that’s the only reason I fell down,” Randle said following the Bears preseason opener. “It was a perfect pass, man. Mitch delivered it right on target.
