When starting tight end, Zach Miller, went down with a broken foot last November, Daniel Brown stepped into the fold. Evidently, he impressed the Bears enough in that late six-game stretch to bring him back on a one-year deal Monday afternoon.
Across 14 games in two NFL seasons with the Ravens and Bears, the 24-year-old Brown has 22 receptions for 188 yards and a touchdown. He enjoyed the bulk of that production with Chicago in his injury replacement stint. Among some early highlights for the young tight end were where he scored his first career touchdown against the Titans and when he recorded a career high six receptions against the Lions.
