The Chicago Bears have re-signed running back Benny Cunningham, according to Joel A. Erickson of The Advocate.
Cunningham, who will be 28 in July, signed a one-year deal with the team last March. He served as the team’s third-string running back behind Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen. While he didn’t carry the ball often - he only had nine rushing attempts for 29 yards - he served as a receiving back and a special teams stalwart: he saw action on nearly 55 percent of the team’s special teams snaps.
