LOS ANGELES — The Bears said David Montgomery would be a game-time decision, and the rookie running back was exactly that Sunday. He said he didn’t know for sure that his ankle felt good enough to play until Sunday.
Montgomery rolled his ankle during Wednesday’s practice, didn’t participate Thursday and sat out Friday.
“Just a lot of treatment and try to recover, just to get back,” he said.
Montgomery wasn’t particularly effective, running 14 times for 31 yards. He caught one pass on three targets for 19 yards.
Tarik Cohen ran nine times for 39 yards, and quarterback Mitch Trubisky added one scramble for four.
