The Bears ruled out starting running back David Montgomery for their game Monday against the Vikings, and that could provide a long-awaited opportunity for former Pro Bowler Lamar Miller.
Montgomery missed practice all week because of a concussion he suffered in the loss to the Titans on Sunday, leaving the Bears with just Cordarrelle Patterson, Ryan Nall and Artavis Pierce at the position.
Miller, 29, has been trying to save his career since tearing his ACL in the 2019 preseason. The Bears have had him on their practice squad since Oct. 5.
His last full healthy season was with the Texans in 2018, when he put up 973 yards rushing (4.
