This year, the Bears’ top draft pick won’t hold have a contract dispute that keeps him out of training camp.
Thursday, the team agreed to terms of a four-year deal with rookie running back David Montgomery, sources confirmed. The Bears drafted the Iowa State running back with their highest pick, a third-rounder, in April.
The team has yet to announce the move.
Montgomery’s salary will be similar to that of last year’s No. 73 overall pick, Dolphins outside linebacker Jerome Baker, who got a four-year, $3.8 million deal.
Head coach Matt Nagy said Wednesday that he wasn’t concerned Montgomery’s contract would get done.
