The first steps of this Bears season have taken them down a familiar, futile path, and they must redirect their offense if they want to avoid ending up at the same maddening destination they know all too well.
Through two weeks, quarterback Caleb Williams and the offense have managed one touchdown. The Bears have the NFL’s fewest passing yards at 198, and their ground game isn’t doing much better. They are fresh off wasting another exceptional defensive performance in Houston, when all the offense needed for a win was 20 points.
