The Bears on Tuesday placed guard Kyle Long and defensive end Mitch Unrein on injured reserve and promoted linebacker Howard Jones and guard Cameron Lee from the practice squad to the active roster.
Long, who turns 29 Tuesday, exited last Sunday’s loss to the 49ers in the first half after aggravating a shoulder injury. He has also been bothered by injuries to his ankle and fingers this season.
The three-time Pro Bowler appeared in 10 games with nine starts. Long sat out the first two weeks of the season while recovering from surgery to repair a broken ankle he sustained in Tampa last Nov.
