Bears tight end Eric Saubert was placed on the NFL’s Reserve/COVID-19 list on Wednesday. He was put on the list for either testing positive or being in the presence of someone who was.
Saubert had two catches for 21 yards after joining the team in the middle of last season. He is one of eight tight ends competing for about five spots — including rookie Cole Kmet and free agent signings Jimmy Graham and Demetrius Harris.
Saubert played 30 games over his first two seasons with the Falcons, catching five passes for 48 yards.
The Bears spent Wednesday morning talking to reporters about how they’re prepared to enact coronavirus protocols throughout their facility.
