The Chicago Bears haven’t even fired their current head coach, Matt Nagy, yet rumors and speculation have been popping up for weeks now about who will be his replacement. Two names with Chicago ties have been frequently mentioned and both are currently coaching in the Big 10, Pat Fitzgerald and Jim Harbaugh.
Northwestern’s Fitzgerald has been rumored to be a target of NFL teams a few times now, and since Northwestern, located in nearby Evanston, Illinois, is “Chicago’s Big Ten Team,” him and the Bears just make sense to many.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer recently wrote that he heard “that the Bears would probably be the only team he’d (Fitzgerald) consider.
