Nothing about the Bears’ coaching search has proceeded quickly, and this organization doesn’t have a reputation for moving nimbly and staying ahead of the competition, but it’s required now.
The coaching carousel is spinning faster after the Lions got knocked out of the playoffs, freeing up offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn to take jobs elsewhere, and Bears general manager Ryan Poles must keep up. This is a time for closers, and there’s little doubt the competition — especially Raiders minority owner Tom Brady — knows how to do that.
