Bears place John Jenkins on injured reserve

The good luck that has surrounded the Chicago Bears on the injury front through two weeks has taken a hit today, as head coach Matt Nagy has confirmed that nose tackle John Jenkins will be going on injured reserve.

Jenkins suffered a ligament tear in his thumb against the Giants but played through it, so with him heading to IR that opens up the roster spot for defensive lineman Daniel McCullers, whom was signed off the Steelers practice squad.

As McCullers’ previous employment was on a practice squad, he’ll need to stay on the Bears active roster for at least three weeks.
