LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains isn't afraid to use the word "special" when discussing rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky's potential.
Trubisky was 12-of-25 for 128 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Bears' 20-17 loss to the Vikings on Monday night, but Loggains argues that the numbers on offense were skewed.
"My biggest concern [with Mitchell going forward] is to make sure the other 10 guys around him are doing their jobs," Loggains said on Wednesday. "I think we hurt him a little bit, those two plays, the 66 yards that were taken off because of penalties, a touchdown, the holding calls -- this kid's going to be special and we've got to do our jobs around him, keep getting in the right spot, make plays and catch the football, and making sure we're keeping him out of first-and-17s.
