The Bears are down another offensive lineman.
With 6:22 left in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Saints, right tackle Bobby Massie hurt his left knee and was tended to by Bears trainers. Eventually he stood up and limped to the sideline, where the Bears erected a blue injury tent. As he was about to enter it, Massie slammed his helmet to the ground. He then walked to the Bears’ locker room.
Massie was replaced by swing tackle Jason Spriggs, who had not played a single offensive snap all season. The Bears signed Spriggs to a one-year deal this offseason; general manager Ryan Pace coveted the Indiana alum in the 2016 draft before the Packers took him in Round 2.
