NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Washington Redskins plan to sign Kevin Pierre-Louis to a one year contract worth up to $3.45 million with incentives.
Pierre-Louis opened some eyes when he received extended playing time on defense for the Chicago Bears at inside linebacker late in the 2019 season. In the final four games last year he had 28 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, an interception, and 2 quarterback hits as he showed a nice bend off the edge as a pass rusher.
The Bears have now lost both reserve inside backers, so they’ll either need Joel Iyiegbuniwe or Josh Woods to step up, or ILB suddenly becomes a bigger free agency or draft need.
