LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears second-year linebacker Roquan Smith is going on injured reserve with a torn pectoral muscle, head coach Matt Nagy announced on Monday.
Smith, Chicago's leading tackler, suffered the injury on the opening drive of the Bears' 31-24 victory over the Dallas Cowboys last Thursday night.
"I really thought you felt him especially here in the last several games really turning it on, really playing fast," Nagy said of Smith. "He's always had that every play that he gets, every game that he plays, for the rest of his career, he's only going to get better and better in my opinion.
