LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Mitchell Trubisky's rapid ascent on the Chicago Bears' quarterback depth chart does not change how general manager Ryan Pace feels about veteran starter Mike Glennon.
But Pace admitted on Wednesday that the plan to redshirt Trubisky may no longer be realistic after Chicago elevated him past Mark Sanchez to No. 2 on the quarterback depth chart.
“He has to be ready,” Pace said of Trubisky’s status for the opener.
For now, though, the ultimate prize of starting quarterback remains out of Trubisky’s reach.
