The Chicago Bears have fired head coach John Fox on Sunday, according to Ian Rapoport.
The expectation has been that Chicago was going to move on from Fox for some time now, so this is among the least surprising coaching moves.
Reports from earlier in the day mentioned that the Bears are likely to target an offensive-minded head coach with their next hire in an attempt to aid rookie QB Mitch Trubisky’s development.
Fox, 62, began his NFL coaching career with the Steelers back in 1989 as their defensive backs coach back.
