Matt Nagy was coy earlier in the week when asked about whether he’d switch left guard Cody Whitehair and center James Daniels, saying he didn’t want to divulge any strategic advantage.
Sunday warmups, though, make it seem the Bears are doing exactly that — Whitehair practiced snaps with quarterback Mitch Trubisky.
Whitehair played center his first three years with the Bears. Daniel, the team’s second round pick in 2018, played left guard last year after being a promising center at Iowa. The team decided to switch the two during the offseason and praised the seamless transition.
Their offensive line has struggled this year, though, and the team hopes moving the two back to last year’s spots solidifies the middle of the line.
