Bears decline former first-rounder Kyle Fuller's fifth-year option

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears will decline 2014 first-round pick Kyle Fuller's fifth-year option, general manager Ryan Pace said Saturday.

Fuller -- taken 14th overall -- sat out all of 2016 after undergoing a knee scope last summer. The Bears hoped to activate Fuller late in the season and designated him to return off of injured reserve, but the cornerback said his knee never responded to the point he could play.

The Bears moved quickly to sign two new starting cornerbacks in free agency -- Prince Amukamara and Marcus Cooper -- and guaranteed both substantial sums of money for the 2017 season.
