LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio is not giving up on Shea McClellin after the inside linebacker’s rough performance against the Redskins.
“Yes, [I think he can be the long-term solution at the position],” Fangio said Wednesday.
The Bears credited McClellin with nine stops last Sunday, but he missed several tackles. Opponents have been successful attacking the middle of the Bears’ defense for much of the year.
“He didn't play as well [against the Redskins] as he had been playing up to this point," Fangio said. "The game just kind of didn't work well for him.
