One of the Bears' best special teams players is staying in Chicago.
On Thursday afternoon, the team announced it had re-signed Sherrick McManis to a one-year deal:

The move ensures that the longest-tenured player on the Bears roster will return to Halas Hall for a ninth season. In 108 games games, he's logged 124 tackles, one interception, six pass breakups and one sack as a reserve defensive back. McManis shines on special teams, though, tallying 74 tackles, a blocked punt, a blocked field goal, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries over that time.
