First, a little perspective and explanation:
This is a column that has been on hold since the Bears hired Matt Nagy as head coach back in January but was not in order given Nagy’s scant resume’. Now there is a meaningful, growing body of work to critique, rather than going with the predictable outpouring of gush over the Nagy hire, predictable since:
1) the media-John Fox waters had been so befouled from the outset that a return to Marc Trestman might’ve been celebrated (come to think of it, Trestman WAS hailed as the dawn of a new offensive Age once upon a time);
2) drawing a clear beat on Nagy was impossible before the regular season commenced.
