The Bears added some much-needed depth to their defensive line on Friday by signing nose tackle John Jenkins to a one-year deal.
Jenkins (6-foot-3, 359-pounds) was originally selected out of Georgia in the third-round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints. Bears GM Ryan Pace was the Saints Director of Player Personnel when the team drafted Jenkins.
Jenkins, 27, split time between the Saints and Seattle Seahawks in 2016. In nine games he accumulated 13 tackles.
In 51 games across four seasons with the Saints (2013-16) and Seahawks (2016), Jenkins has totaled 113 tackles, 6 tackles for a loss and 1.
