The Bears on Monday claimed tackle Matt McCants off waivers from the Browns and placed tackle on injured reserve.
McCants appeared in 28 games with three starts the past four seasons with the Raiders, including two contests this year. He was released by Oakland Nov. 26 and claimed by the Browns two days later. McCants was then waived by Cleveland last Friday without appearing in a game.
McCants was selected by the Giants in the sixth round of the 2012 draft out of Alabama-Birmingham and spent his rookie season on New York’s practice squad.
Adams played in the first 12 games with one start this season before suffering a back injury that forced him to sit out Sunday’s loss to the Lions.
