The Bears on Friday activated linebacker Jerrell Freeman, promoted offensive lineman Cornelius Edison from the practice squad and placed nose tackle Eddie Goldman on injured reserve.
Freeman returns after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances. He leads the Bears with 91 tackles.
Edison entered the NFL with the Bears last year as an undrafted free agent from Portland State. He has appeared in five games this season.
Goldman was selected by the Bears in the second round of the 2015 draft out of Florida State.
