Matt Murray played with Connor McDavid in the World Cup last year and, after facing the Oilers' star in a game for the first time last November, made a rather bold comment.
“He's the fastest player,” Murray said, “in hockey history.”
Just because a comment is bold doesn't mean it's inaccurate. The game has never been faster and the fastest man in hockey, by almost anyone's account, is McDavid.
The 20-year-old superstar and his Oilers are in Pittsburgh for their annual visit. McDavid most assuredly has the Penguins' attention.
“He's just different than other players that you play against,” Ian Cole said.
