The Chicago Bears first preseason game is not about the starters or seeing what will come from the 2019 season. Rather, it is a chance to scout the back end of the roster. Lower players are able to set a foundation of what to expect and trajectory of growth for the following weeks.
So, in the next week, some more starters will get mixed in. However, the growth of these players will need to be monitored. Did they get more playing time? With better talent? Did they struggle with the increased workload? Was their week one performance a mirage, that the coaches did not trust?
