Bears general manager Ryan Pace is never one to shy away from getting his man. After a trade up with the New England Patriots to No. 73 overall, the Bears selected former Iowa State standout running back David Montgomery. Montgomery joins a budding Bears offense that needed one final backfield piece to put them over the top. Theoretically, Montgomery and all of his complete stature should be a perfect fit for that mission.
A two-year starter for the Cyclones, Montgomery rushed for over 2,300 yards and 24 touchdowns over the last two seasons. He’s a patient runner with great balance that should flourish in a nuanced offense like the Bears have.
