Chicago Bears News & Rumors begins with a training camp update as rookies are set to report Tuesday, July 21st. Full teams are scheduled to report by next Monday, July 28th, but several top NFL Players including Khalil Mack have voiced their concerns on Twitter. Players are concerned about the health protocols or lack thereof from the NFL with the ongoing pandemic. Will all players report on time? Will the 2020 NFL Season begin as scheduled? Chicago Bears Now host Harrison Graham has the latest Bears Rumors & News on today’s show.
Nick Foles & Mitchell Trubisky are set to report to training camp on Thursday July 23rd when quarterbacks and injured players are allowed to show up. The Bears’ coaching staff led by Matt Nagy has maintained that the QB competition will not begin until on-field work begins. If there are no preseason games, does that give Trubisky the edge to be the Week 1 starting QB for the Bears?
ESPN bashed the Chicago Bears on two separate occasions as they ranked the Bears “offensive weapons” 28th out of all 32 NFL teams. Bill Barnwell cited that Allen Robinson is basically the only proven commodity on the Bears offense. He did mention that Tarik Cohen, Ted Ginn Jr. and others are “intriguing”.
The Bears future is somewhat unclear as the future of the QB position is very unclear after 2020. ESPN’s “future power rankings” which covers the next 3 years doesn’t like where the Bears stack up. They rank the Bears 31st, only ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars, in their future rankings. The primary reason is due to the fact that the quarterback spot is uncertain in Chicago beyond this season.
