The Chicago Bears will once again be playing on new turf at Soldier Field during their next home game against the Minnesota Vikings on November 16th, per Mark Potash of the Chicago Sun-Times.
According to Mike Florio of NBC's Pro Football Talk, "based on the total damage done by a rugby match between New Zealand’s All Blacks and the USA Golden Eagles, the playing surface will be partially or fully replaced."
This will mark the third time this year that the Bears have been forced to install new sod. Prior to the preseason opener, the entire playing surface had to be replaced. Following the first regular-season home game, grounds-crew members had to lay down new sod down the length of the middle of the field.
