In this Bears news and rumors update, Chicago Bears star defensive end Jared Allen did not dress for the team's dress rehearsal preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks on Friday.
Per Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune, "the 32-year-old defensive end missed Tuesday's practice at Halas Hall with a bruised shoulder but was back on the field Wednesday during the portion of practice open to the media."
However, Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman decided to play it safe with Allen with the regular season opener just over two weeks away. If this is Allen's last brush with action this preseason, he will have only seen all of 28 snaps this preseason - all coming in last week's tilt against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Allen also missed the team's preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, held out after missing three consecutive practices following the birth of his second daughter. Allen's durability injury-wise hasn't been a question mark his entire career (missing just three regular season games over the span of 10 years), so it's likely that he should be good to go come Week 1.
