In Bears rumors today, the Chicago Bears could be looking to the vaunted Oregon Ducks offense on the collegiate level to provide a dimensional spark to their running game.
Per NFLTradeRumors.co and Fox Sports' Ross Jones, the Chicago Bears will welcome former Oregon Ducks running back De'Anthony Thomas for a visit on Tuesday.
Despite a rough showing in the 40-yard dash during the NFL Combine (4.5o seconds), Thomas was well known on the collegiate level for his speed around the edges -- something the Chicago Bears could use to add extra looks to their running game to open up the pass for starting quarterback Jay Cutler.
He was also able to raise his 40-yard-dash time to marks of 4.34 and 4.35 at the University of Oregon's official pro day.
De'Anthony Thomas is being projected by most NFL Draft experts to fall somewhere in the 5th to 7th round, meaning that the Bears could most likely take a chance on Thomas without too much from a financial expenditure perspective.
