In tonight's edition of Bears news, the Chicago Bears could surprise everyone by picking Michigan State cornerback Darqueze Dennard with their first round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Per NFL writer Dan Pompei, former NFL front office executive Pat Kirwan believes that Dennard presents the best fit for the Chicago Bears at #14: "The top two safeties are gone but a top corner in Dennard is still on the board. Charles Tillman isn't getting any younger," stated Kirwan.
Kirwan also believes that rumored Bears targets such as defensive tackle Aaron Donald and defensive end Anthony Barr will be off the board before the Bears are on the clock, leaving the team to perhaps delve deeper into their draft board -- providing they don't trade up.
One more interesting note from Pompei's account of Kirwan's draft thoughts: Kirwan believes that only one quarterback will come off the board prior to the Bears picking at #14.
That quarterback would be Johnny Manziel.
