Jose Mourinho once called Walter Mazzarri a ‘donkey’ during their long-standing feud in Italy but the Watford manager insists he will not try to reignite that rivalry in England.
Mazzarri managed Sampdoria and Napoli while Mourinho was at Inter Milan and the war of words between the two was well documented.
It was in Italy where Mourinho was accused of talking ‘rubbish’ by Mazzarri, before the now-Manchester United boss reportedly hit back: ‘Beating me is the most important thing in his career.’
Tomorrow they will meet for their first time in the Premier League when United travel to Watford but Mazzarri insists they do not see each other as enemies.
