Unfortunately, the Chelsea star's strike that pulled the Three Lions back on level terms late in the second half ended up counting for nothing as Spain clinched victory in the closing moments.
However, it was another brilliant cameo showing from Palmer who finished coolly with a curling effort into the bottom corner just three minutes after making his introduction.
