From Bobby Moore to Declan Rice, Tony Carr has worked with plenty of England players during his 48 years at West Ham.
He started as an apprentice in 1966 with World Cup winners Moore, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters. As a youth coach, he guided generations of future stars; Alvin Martin, Paul Ince, Jermain Defoe, Tony Cottee, Glen Johnson, Joe Cole, Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick and Mark Noble among them.
Perhaps his greatest legacy will turn out to be persuading a 14-year-old Declan Rice to sign for the club having being released from Chelsea.
