Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly will make a personal intervention to ease emerging doubts over Reece James’ future.
Sportsmail highlighted earlier this month that the club were yet to approach the England international about extending his deal - despite his position as one of the club’s most important players - leading to concerns over his long-term future.
However, it is understood that Boehly has made a decisive move to ensure resolving James’ contractual situation is among the club’s priorities.

Formal discussions over a new deal are yet to get underway, however the club have privately made clear their intention to offer James an improved contract - potentially once the transfer window closes at the end of August.
