Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel insists that Edouard Mendy remains his No 1 goalkeeper despite electing to start Kepa Arrizabalaga in the 2-0 win over Newcastle.

The German made the surprising decision to drop summer signing Mendy and bring the Spaniard back into the fold, for their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge, and the stopper kept a clean sheet.

Kepa's future at Chelsea looked over after the arrival of Mendy, making just three appearances this season.
