Thibaut Courtois spends New Year's Eve visiting young leukaemia sufferer in Belgian hospital as he insists: 'I hope we can play football together soon'

Christmas may be over, but Thibaut Courtois saved up some festive cheer on New Year's Eve as he visited a 'little friend' in hospital.

The Chelsea goalkeeper was back in Belgium this weekend, and he stopped off to say hello to an eight-year-old leukaemia sufferer called Jorgo.

Courtois posed for pictures with the youngster, who was decked out in Paris Saint-Germain training gear, and also gave him a signed Chelsea shirt.

Writing alongside a series of photos on Instagram, Courtois said: 'Today I visited my little friend Jorgo at the hospital in Leuven, he is 8 years old and incredibly strong in his fight against leukemia!
