'The worst run in the history of football!': Paul Merson slams Frank Lampard's five-game losing streak at Chelsea - and tells Blues to appoint Mauricio Pochettino NOW

Paul Merson has told Chelsea to make Mauricio Pochettino their new manager as a matter of urgency with the club currently on the 'worst run is the history of football' under Frank Lampard.

Chelsea have lost their last five matches across all competitions, conceding nine goals in the process and scoring just once in that period with Lampard in charge.

Their shocking Premier League form has seen the Blues drop to 12th in the top-flight standings, with their last win a 1-3 victory over Leicester on March 11.

The club's new American co-owner Todd Boehly made the decision to appoint former sacked boss and Chelsea legend Lampard on an interim basis until the end of the season after previously terminating Graham Potter's contract.
