The Ricketts Family have pledged to never join a European Super League if their attempts to become Chelsea’s new owners are successful amid major supporter unrest against their bid to buy the European champions.
The wealthy Americans - who are leading a bid that also includes hedge fund manager Ken Griffin and multi-billionaire Dan Gilbert - are also promising not to make any changes to the club’s name, badge or colours without the consent of supporters and vowing to invest in the team to ensure they continue to challenge for major trophies.
They are also pledging to exhaust every option to redevelop Stamford Bridge in hope of staying at Chelsea’s spiritual home.
